If you have a beautiful tiled pool and want to keep it that way here are a few tips.
Hair pins or clips
Ladies often jump or dive into a pool and forget that they have clips in their hair. Left even for just a few hours on the pool floor or your lovely white stone surround they can leave stains that are sometimes impossible to remove. I can recall many barnd new pools that in between regular cleans a hairclip has been left on the floor and once removed leave an obvious clip-shaped rust mark and is still there years later.
Leaves
Some leaves can leave hideous stains on the pool floor even after a few days, but fortunately are removed once the chlorine level starts to rise, with constant brushing.
Leaves are generally easy to spot, hairclips very difficult.
Stones/Gravel
Although they generally don’t stain can be a nightmare. Sharp or pointed edges can be quite painful under the feet and smaller ones can get sucked up into the pump and block the impeller.
So when your pool man is not around and you spot any of these hazards, grab the net and fish them out !
